I'm a big fan of good Sound Art. That said, I find most sound installations boring, manipulative and generally too easy, because the sound tends to be used as an addition to carry meaning rather than being used to overcome itself as literal sound and transcend.
But last night I saw Paul DeMarinis: Buried in Noise at daadgalerie.
I liked "pneuma" : naked, breathing, anthropomormphosized speaker membranes.
But even more enjoyable was the installation "dust", where fluorescent sand was imprinted with an image that was distorted by vibrations in regular intervals.
